Did you know that everything (and I mean every single detail) contributes to the overall look, style and feel in your home? Window treatments included!
Because draperies can carry such a large visual weight in a room, it’s important to pay attention to the details, as they can either make or break the look you are trying to achieve.
When it comes to your draperies, valances and window treatments… the fabrics you choose, the drapery rods… even the pleats all contribute to the overall look and personality of your room.
I’ve included a few examples below of pleat styles and personalities –
Pinch Pleat – perfect for a traditional room
Inverted Box Pleat – a clean and modern look
Goblet Pleat – glamorous, high style
Flounce or Gathered – relaxed, beachy, flirty and feminine
Grommet Top – fun and contemporary
Smocked, Pencil Pleat – unique, high style, parisian, country French
There are so many different styles of pleats, I’ve only touched on a few here. But I hope it gets you thinking about doing something fun and unusual when it comes to your window treatments and draperies.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments below… what is your pleat personality!?
